The key figures of the hydrocarbon sector, both domestic and international, are included in this report. Structure, format, content and scope of the time series which first developed in the previous report is maintained. Three sections are included in this report: international, national and reserves of oil and natural gas.

In the first two chapters comprehensive information on the key figures of the sector is provided: demand, consumption, production, stocks, imports, exports and prices worldwide in the first chapter and at national level in the second. In the third chapter, and considering that CORES, as Spanish Central Stockholding Entity, has as its main objective the maintenance, management and control of minimum security stocks of petroleum products, liquefied petroleum gases and natural gas in Spain, a more detailed information about these stocks is offered .

This 2013 edition includes new data about the evolution in automotive fuels retail outlets nationwide and the capacity of the Spanish refineries, expanding, in this way, the use of external sources of information in order to combine in a single publication the most relevant information from the sector. It has also been expanded the information on imports and exports of natural gas, including its breakdown point of entry and exit respectively.
